Understanding SVG

SVG is an application language of XML, the Extensible Markup (Meta) Language. All SVG documents follow the syntax rules of XML 1.0. If you are not already familiar with the syntax requirements of XML, they are summarized in Chapter 2, “Document Structure in SVG,” where we examine the structure of an SVG document.

SVG is intended to display three types of visual entities:
