Part: I SVG Fundamentals > Laying Out Text in SVG

Chapter 8. Laying Out Text in SVG

IN THIS CHAPTER

It is essential that you be able to lay out text in SVG. For example, a map may need text to name towns or other features, a technical diagram may need text to label parts of a piece of machinery, and so on. In other settings, a logo may contain text whose positioning may in turn be animated. SVG can even be used to create SVG Web pages, where predictable text layout is vital to communication. If SVG is to be used effectively in such ways, the ability to lay out text precisely and predictably is essential.
