Summary

This chapter explored what the SVG viewport is and how the initial viewport is created. The viewport is the area of the SVG canvas that you can see onscreen. We looked at how the viewBox attribute can be used to scale or pan objects within its scope. We also looked at the preserveAspectRatio attribute and examined many of the values it can take.

Finally, we described the SVG DOM objects relevant to coordinates and showed some examples of using the DOM.
