Working with PNGs in Flash

Flash SWF is a quick way to get your animations into the SWF format, but it isn’t necessarily the best way to import graphics or animations from Fireworks. You can use the Import command from the File menu in Flash to import a SWF created in Fireworks. However, layer information is not preserved, and images shared across frames will be repeated on multiple frames, a method that is not optimal for SWF file size. A Flash SWF created in Fireworks and imported into Flash is shown in Figure 13.3.

Figure 13.3. If you export a Flash SWF file from Fireworks and then import it into Flash, all objects will be on the same layer and repeated in every frame.
