Importing Vector Graphics into Fireworks

Whether or not you have ever used illustration software, it is very rare to use Fireworks for long before someone asks you to work with a file created in Illustrator, FreeHand, or even CorelDRAW. All of these files can be opened directly into Fireworks or else pasted in via the Clipboard. Some native features from the original program, such as textures and blends, will likely be lost during this process. Providing a definitive list of unsupported features is not really possible, however, as the fate of the features will depend upon the settings used when the file was originally saved. When you open a vector file directly into Fireworks, a new document is created; when you import a vector file, it is placed in your currently open Fireworks document.
