Inserting Motion Tweens

At the end of the previous hour, “Planning and Creating Animation for the Web,” you looked at motion tweening. Now you will have a quick recap of the concept and then put it into practice.

To tween one or more objects, select it with the pointer and use Convert to Symbol from the Symbol commands on the Modify menu, or press F8. Name the symbol and choose the Graphic type. The objects will now be a selected symbol on the Canvas. Use Duplicate from the Edit menu to create another copy of the symbol on the same layer. Click and drag with the pointer, or use the transformation tools to move and modify the copy. You can also use tweening for copies with a different opacity, as in Figure 12.1.
