Exercises

The following exercises are purely optional but are designed to help you build on your existing skills and use them in a practical way.

  1. Create a graphic in Fireworks that contains slices or other elements needing HTML when exported. Change the HTML settings and export the file two or three times. This will give you a better understanding of how the settings can affect the final outcome.

  2. Practice importing HTML files that haven’t been created in Fireworks. See how different elements are handled in a real environment. Then determine how you will need to either amend or re-create the elements that do not import or that import with errors.

  3. Export files using HTML intended for different editors. Then check the code and see how many differences there are. Each available HTML editor that has its own quirks. Seeing the differences in the HTML styles is a good way to gain some understanding.
