Saturation

In the HSL system, a setting that corresponds to the purity of the color. Saturation decreases from top to bottom. The values range from 0 to 240, with 240 as the pure color. Saturation is reduced by mixing complementary colors (those that are opposites of one another), and the combination of complementary colors always tends toward gray.

shadows

Effects that make objects look as though they have shadows, creating a three-dimensional appearance. In Fireworks the Drop Shadow setting applies a darkened effect, generally to the side and below an object (you can change the direction), making the object look raised. Inner Shadow, with darkness coming within the bounds of object, makes the object look recessed or hollow.
