Hour 23. HTML Options and Editors

In the two preceding hours, “Adobe Photoshop and ImageReady” and “Macromedia FreeHand and Adobe Illustrator,” you saw how good Fireworks is at working with images and files from other graphics applications, whether they are from Macromedia or not. Hour 17, “Working with Dreamweaver MX,” addressed roundtrip editing between Dreamweaver and Fireworks, which is the most common integration between Fireworks and any other application, but you may be wondering what other HTML options are open to you.

This hour will start by looking at the HTML setup options used for exporting Fireworks HTML and then will move on to look at other ways that Fireworks can use HTML. Did you know, for example, that you can use Fireworks HTML in almost any HTML editor, or that this latest version of Fireworks can open HTML content created in other applications, as long as it is table based? This means that you can now use nonnative Fireworks HTML created by someone else, even when you have not created the source code or images.
