Hour 15. Creating Interactive Graphics > Creating Interactive Button Symbols

Creating Interactive Button Symbols

Another way to animate and activate graphics is to use symbols to create ready-made elements with behaviors intact. Symbols are stored in the Library panel for repeated use in the document. A sample Library panel is shown in Figure 15.9. Symbols are kind of like documents within the main document; a symbol can have its own layers, frames, and objects, including bitmaps, paths, text, groups, slices, and hotspots. Symbols can even include other symbols, which is called nesting.

Figure 15.9. The graphics in the layout have been broken down into symbols so that you can edit a symbol and cascade the changes across frames.
