Workshop

The following questions will test your knowledge of image formats, document settings, and other topics discussed in the hour. The exercises will help you put into practice what you’ve just learned.

Q&A

Q1:I have been given an old version of a Photoshop PSD file to convert for use on the Web. How should I do this?
A1: Start by making sure that your import options will suit the image you are going to work with. After the image has been opened in Fireworks, you should be able to make any changes you need, and then you can reexport it as a Photoshop file.
Q2:Why can’t I use all my Photoshop plug-ins and filters?
A2: Quite simply, Adobe and Macromedia do not make their products in the same way. This means that there are always going to be some compatibility problems.
Q3:I am interested in learning more about ImageReady, but I cannot find it. Where can I get a copy?
A3: ImageReady is not available as a stand-alone product anymore. It is installed automatically with Photoshop version 5.5 and upward.
