Understanding Filters

Filter effects are created by using one or a number of “filter primitives.” Filter primitives are generally simple filter executions, such as blurring or blending objects. When combined, they are able to create incredibly complex filter effects. Even better, they can be mixed and matched to create unique filter effects (more on this later in this hour).

The possible filter primitives are detailed in Table 10.1.
