Summary

Color is fun to play with, but it's also rather complicated to understand. The world in general, and Photoshop in particular, uses color models as a way of describing colors. The four color models are HSB, RGB, CMYK, and Lab color. There are also color modes, which allow you to work with color. RGB is the most useful color mode, because it's the one the monitor displays. CMYK mode is used for printing, as is Grayscale.

In this chapter, we discussed the color modes and the specific color models in Photoshop. We also looked at a few of the more salient issues regarding converting between modes.
