Chapter 7. Creating Books > To change book text settings

To change book text settings

1.
Click the Settings button to bring up the settings dialog (Figure 7.7).

Figure 7.7. Use the controls in the settings dialog to change the way text appears in your book.

2.
To change the look of different classes of text in a book, choose from the various pop-up menus to change the font and style, and enter new sizes in the size fields.

3.
Deselect Automatically Enter Photo Information if you don't want iPhoto to pick up titles and comments from photos, and deselect Show Page Numbers if you don't want to include page numbers.

4.
Click OK to apply your changes.

Old and New Themes

iPhoto's old themes, which are available only for hardcover books, include Picture Book, Classic, Story Book, Collage, Portfolio, Year Book, and Catalog. None of the old themes offer any choices in the Page Design pop-up menu, so don't bother looking for any.

iPhoto's new themes, which are available for both hardcover and softcover books, include Picture Book (a different layout), Travel, Watercolor, Contemporary, Folio, Crayon, Baby Boy, and Baby Girl (the last two are identical other than the page colors—you guessed it, blue and pink). The only caveat is that small softcover books offer only the new Picture Book theme; there simply isn't enough room for anything else.
