Chapter 2. Importing and Managing Photos > To create an iPhoto Library folder

To create an iPhoto Library folder

1.
Quit iPhoto.

2.
In the Finder, rename your iPhoto Library folder (just add a word to the end of the name) or move it to another folder.

3.
Launch iPhoto, and when prompted, click Create Library to create a new iPhoto Library folder (Figure 2.19).

Figure 2.19. Let iPhoto create a new iPhoto Library folder for you by renaming or moving your existing one, and then clicking Create Library when next launching iPhoto.

✓ Tips

  • If you want a second iPhoto Library folder to contain all your photos to start with, select the original iPhoto Library folder in the Finder and choose Duplicate () from the Finder's File menu.

  • You can also create new libraries using the free iPhoto Library Manager (see sidebar) from http://homepage.mac.com/bwebster/iphotolibrarymanager.html.
