Chapter 6. Understanding Curves > Taking Curves for a Test Drive

Taking Curves for a Test Drive

You can press the Option (Mac) or Alt (Windows) key when choosing Image > Adjustments > Curves to apply the last settings used on an image.

Okay, start your engines. We're going to stop babbling and start driving! Go ahead—open an image, choose Image > Adjustments > Curves, and start messing with the curve. Just click anywhere on the curve to add a point, and then drag it around to change the shape of the curve. If you want to get rid of a point, drag it off the edge of the grid. You can also click a point and then use the arrow keys on your keyboard to nudge it around the grid. You can even add the Shift key to the arrow keys to nudge it in larger increments.
