Workspace Presets

You might find that different palette layouts work better for different tasks. For instance, when retouching an image, you might find that you like to have the Brushes palette extend all the way down the right side of your screen and have most of the other palettes hidden away. Later, when you start to paint, you might prefer to have the Color, Swatches, and Brushes palettes along the right side of your screen. Well, that's when you'll want to save a workspace preset that will remember exactly where all your palettes were at the time you saved the preset. To save a preset, choose Window > Workspace > Save Workspace, and give it a memorable name. Then to switch between different saved workspaces, just choose the name of the workspace you desire from the bottom of the Window > Workspace menu (Figure 1.9). This feature is great for people who have to share a computer with others because each user can have a different arrangement of palettes saved as a workspace, so different users can quickly swap between those workspaces.
