Chapter 15. Collage > Filling Areas

Filling Areas

Because Photoshop treats Layer Masks as if they are grayscale documents, you can create selections and fill those areas with black or white to hide or show the contents of a layer. To fill a selected area with the current foreground color (which is black by default), press Option-Delete (Mac) or Alt-Backspace (Windows). To fill a selected area with the current background color (white by default), press Command-Delete (Mac) or Ctrl-Backspace (Windows). This is nice because it frees you from having to use the painting tools.
