Tool Presets

Tool presets allow you to store and retrieve your favorite tool settings. You can access the presets in two ways: Click on the Tool icon that appears on the left side of the options bar, or choose Window > Tool Presets (Figure 1.118). To save a preset, click on the new Preset icon at the bottom of the Tool Presets palette. (It looks like a piece of paper with the corner turned down.) You'll also find the same icon in the upper-right area of the drop-down palette that you can access from the options bar. When you save a preset, Photoshop remembers all the settings that were specified in the options bar and the Brushes palette (if you're using a painting or retouching tool). If you check the Include Color check box (Figure 1.119), it will even remember your foreground and background colors. Once you've saved a preset, you can get back to those settings at any time by clicking on the name of the preset from the Tool Presets palette.
