Lesson 14. Creating Rollover Web Visuals > Saving the page as HTML

Saving the page as HTML

ImageReady does the hard work of converting your image-file information to a Web page that consists of an HTML file and supporting folders of files. There is one important step that you must do in order for the Web page to recognize the rollovers so that they work properly on the Web page. You’ll do that step first.

1.
From the Web Content palette menu, choose Find All Remote Slices.

2.
When a message appears reporting the changes that ImageReady has made to the file, click OK.

3.
Choose File > Save Optimized As.

4.
In the Save Optimized As dialog box, do the following:

  • Navigate to the location where you want to save the file, or save it in the Lessons/Lesson14 folder.

  • Leave the filename as it is.

  • Choose HTML and Images for Save as Type (Windows) or Format (Mac OS).

  • Choose Settings > Default Settings.

  • Choose Slices > All Slices.

  • Click Save.

5.
Switch to Adobe Bridge, locate the 14Start.html file you just saved, and right-click (Windows) or Control-click (Mac OS). Choose Open With from the contextual menu, and choose a Web browser to open the HTML file and view your rollovers. When you’re done, quit the browser.

Nice job! You have finished your work on Lesson 14.
