Resolution

lets you specify a resolution for the converted image, in pixels per inch or pixels by centimeter, giving you the option to save yourself a trip to the Image Size dialog box once the image is converted. Unlike the Size control, it has no effect on the number of pixels in the converted image—it just specifies a default resolution for the image. You can always override it later using Photoshop's Image Size command.
