Chapter 11. Different Strokes: Artistic Effects

Chapter 11. Different Strokes: Artistic Effects

This chapter is actually much cooler than its subtitle implies; it's just that I couldn't come up with a cooler sounding name than “Artistic Effects,” so don't hold that against the effects themselves—it's not their fault. I was afraid the name might scare some people away, because they might think, “Oh, that's painting and working with brushes, and I can't paint, so I'll just skip over this chapter and head on over to 'Advertising Effects.'” I don't think the Gary Coleman reference in the chapter head helped sell this chapter much either, but there's a trick in here for taking a photograph and making it look like you really can paint. It's called “The Evil Deceit Trick.” Not really, but I bet if it were, that's the first one you'd turn to. Yes, you would. Oh come on, you act like I hardly know you.
