Chapter 3. fixing image flaws

Chapter 3. fixing image flaws

You've made collections for all the pages in your album; but the photos that go on those pages may need some retouching. Elements Editor is your darkroom, providing the tools you need to make your photos look their best. Editor's two modes, Quick Fix and Standard Edit, offer different levels of edit functions, ranging from completely automated to fully user driven. In this project, we want to concentrate on learning to create album pages, not tweaking images to perfection. To fix image flaws quickly, we'll use a mix of automated tools and tools that give the user some control. You'll find most of these tools in Quick Fix mode. A few tools, such as the healing brush, are available only in Standard Edit mode, the mode that gives you the most control over photo retouching. For the sake of space, we'll mostly look at correcting one photo, with one problem, at a time. For your own album, be sure to look at all the photos for a spread together to evaluate what kinds of changes need to be made. If you keep all the images for the spread open simultaneously, you can harmonize them more easily.
