Lesson 7. Adding Emphasis > Review answers

Review answers

1No, the frames added in the Print Photos dialog box don’t become part of the image file. So, you can print your favorite pictures with one frame for one occasion and a different frame for another. These frames are available only when Picture Package is selected for Select Type Of Print. They are not available for individual prints, contact sheets, or labels.
2Frames selections are available in the Styles And Effects palette when Effects is selected in the first pop-up menu and either Frames or All is selected in the other pop-up menu. Frame selections are also available for the Custom Shape tool. You can find these selection by opening the Shape Picker from the tool options bar, and then clicking the arrow on the Shape Picker to open the palette menu, and choosing Frames.
3Although the full set of Elements Shapes is available for both the Custom Shape tool and Cookie Cutter tool, the two tools produce different results. The Custom Shape tool draws the selected shape on a new layer, giving the shape the current Foreground Color. The Cookie Cutter tool deletes everything on the currently selected layer except the part of the image that’s inside the shape. Other layers of the image are not affected. The Crop tool affects the entire image, changing the canvas size so that it includes only part of the original image. The Crop tool cuts only in rectangular shapes.
4Scaling resizes only the layer that is currently selected in the Layers palette. The canvas size and the other layers remain unchanged. Changing the image size resizes all layers.
