Correcting Color

The Auto Color function, which you can access either in Quick Fix or by choosing Enhance > Auto Color Correction, automatically corrects many color casts (an excessive amount of one color). However, it offers no opportunity for you to adjust the results.

You can gain more control over color correction by choosing Enhance > Adjust Color > Remove Color Cast. In this method, you click on a spot in the image that should be a neutral tone—pure white, pure black, or gray—and Elements then shifts the photo's colors to make the color you selected neutral (Figure 6.20). You can keep clicking different areas until you achieve the color balance you want.
