Image Correction and Optimization

In Chapter 6, Tonal Correction Fundamentals, we alluded to the distinction between correction and optimization. Correction is the process of compensating for flaws in the original and for distortions introduced during the image-capture process. Optimization, on the other hand, compensates for the shortcomings of the output process.
