Refining the Result

Now that the colors have been optimized, let's explore some methods for improving the image even more. These steps are optional, but I usually end up performing them on the majority of images that I adjust.

Refinements to Brightness and Contrast Adjustments

The process we've gone through up until now was designed to correct the colors in the image. Now that the colors are better, you can also use all the ideas I showed you in the curves chapter to further enhance the brightness and contrast of the image. Just be careful not to shift the colors of the image. (You can prevent that by setting the blending mode of all future Curves adjustments to Luminosity, as was explained in the chapter on Curves.)
