Chapter 1. Getting Started > Installing iPhoto via Software Update

Installing iPhoto via Software Update

The easiest way to download and install iPhoto is via Apple’s Software Update utility.

To install iPhoto via Software Update:

1.
From the Apple menu, choose System Preferences to open the System Preferences window.

2.
In the System collection of preferences panes, click Software Update to display the Software Update pane (Figure 1.1).

3.
To make Software Update find iPhoto for downloading, make sure you’re connected to the Internet, and then click the Check Now button.

Software Update launches another application that displays the updates that make sense for your Mac, including iPhoto if it hasn’t already been installed.

4.
Click the checkbox next to the update you want to install (Figure 1.2).

5.
Click the Install button, and when the installer prompts you for it, enter your administrator password.
