Chapter 5. Creating Books > Changing Fonts and Styles

Changing Fonts and Styles

iPhoto doesn’t let you modify font size to increase the likelihood that your text will fit in the text boxes. You can change the font and style of text boxes, but frankly, I don’t recommend messing with font settings much; the results can be unpredictable.

To change fonts and styles (I):

1.
From the Edit menu’s Font menu, choose Show Fonts (), or -click a text box and from the hierarchical Font menu, choose Show Fonts (Figure 5.13).

Figure 5.13. To change fonts and styles, first Control-click a text box, and from the hierarchical Font menu, choose Show Fonts.

iPhoto opens the Fonts panel (Figure 5.14).

Figure 5.14. Then, from the Fonts panel, click a collection in the Collections column if you want to narrow the selection of fonts, click a font in the Family column, and choose a style from the Typeface column. Ignore the Sizes column—you can’t change sizes in iPhoto.

2.
Click a text box (not necessary if you chose Show Fonts from the contextual menu), from the Family column, choose a font, and, if there are multiple choices in the Typeface column, choose a style.

iPhoto changes the text of the current text box and all others like it (such as all titles or all comments).
