Special effects with type

The Transform commands, which we discuss in the first set of instructions below, reshape both the type and its bounding box. You can move, scale, rotate, and skew editable type. For rasterized type, you can do all of the above, plus apply perspective and distort. You can only transform a whole type block—not individual characters.

Another way to transform a block of point or paragraph type is to choose the Move tool (V), choose a type layer on the Layers palette, check Show Bounding Box on the options bar, then move any of the handles on the type’s bounding box using the same techniques as for Free Transform.
