To scan into Photoshop:

1.
Choose File > Import, then choose a scanning module or a Twain scanning device.

Click Prescan or Preview .

Following the guidelines outlined on the previous two pages, choose a Scan Mode and a Resolution. Other options may be available, depending on the scanning software you’re using.

Optional: Choose a different Scaling or Magnification percentage and/or manually crop the image preview.

5.
Click Scan. The scanned image will appear in a new, untitled window.

6.
Save the image (see pages 71–73). If it requires color correction, see pages 428–432. If it needs to be straightened out, see the tip on page 92.

Scanning into ImageReady

The first time you choose a scanning module from the File > Import submenu in ImageReady, choose Twain_32 Source (Win) or Twain Select (Mac OS), choose a Twain device (the scanner), then choose Twain_32 (Win) or Twain Acquire (Mac OS).

Thereafter, to access the scanning software, just choose File > Import > Twain_32 (Win) or Twain Acquire (Mac OS). (See the Photoshop documentation for information about scanning modules.)
