Selecting Recipes from the How To Palette

The How To palette provides step-by-step instructions—referred to as recipes—for many commonly performed Photoshop Elements tasks, such as adding a drop shadow to an image or removing red-eye from a photograph. Most recipes also offer a Play button with some steps; just click, and Photoshop Elements performs those steps for you.

To use the How To palette:

1.
Choose Window > How To, or if the How To palette is visible in the well, click its tab.

The How To palette drops down from the palette well (Figure 1.57).

From the Select a Recipe drop-down menu, choose a category; then select a recipe from the list that appears (Figure 1.58).

Follow the step-by-step recipe instructions. If a step includes a Play button, click it, and Photoshop Elements will complete that step for you (Figure 1.59).
