Chapter 6. WORKING WITH OBJECTS > Combining Vector Objects

Combining Vector Objects

One of the secrets to working with vector objects is to combine simple paths into more complex shapes. Some programs call these Path operations. In Fireworks they are the Combine commands. Each of the Combine commands creates a new object from two or more overlapping objects.

To unite objects:

1.
Select two or more overlapping objects.

2.
Choose Modify > Combine > Union. The path of the new object follows the path of the overlapping objects 39.

Figure 39. The Union command forms one object from two or more overlapping objects.
