Creating Slice Objects

Ruler guides do not provide enough control to slice all the areas of the image accurately. For instance, a guide around one area may cut through an area that you don't want sliced 2. Slice objects create slices around specific areas of your image. Other areas are sliced only if necessary.

Figure 2. When ruler guides are used to slice an image they may cut into other images that you don't want sliced such as the slices through the images of the statue and Mt. Rushmore.
