Instead of selecting an entire object, you can also select individual points. You can then manipulate or delete them to change the shape of the path. The Subselection tool is used to select individual anchor points.
To use the Subselection tool:

Tip If you switch from the Pointer tool to the Subselection tool while an object is already selected, you see the unselected anchor points for that object. |
