Chapter 14. IMPORTING > Importing EPS Files

Importing EPS Files

Fireworks can open EPS files. If the files are rasterized EPS images, such as those created by Photoshop, the EPS File Options dialog box appears.

To open EPS files:

1.
Choose File > Open and then find the EPS file you want to open. Click OK. The EPS File Options dialog appears 12.

Figure 12. The EPS File Options let you open EPS files as rasterized images.

2.
Set the Width and Height fields.

3.
Set the Resolution amount.

4.
Check Constrain Proportions to keep the width and height in proportion to each other.

5.
Check Anti-aliased to soften the edges of the artwork.

Tip

Vector EPS files created in programs such as FreeHand and CorelDraw will be rasterized when they are opened. Save the file without the EPS information to open them as a vector file.

Tip

Some vector EPS files created by Adobe Illustrator are opened using the vector options covered in the previous section. (See the sidebar on this page for a discussion of which vector EPS files can be opened.)
