Chapter 14. IMPORTING

As the poet John Donne wrote, "No man is an island, entire of itself." So, too, with Macromedia Fireworks. Although it boasts a wealth of tools, fills, and effects, it is not a software island unto itself. It is very likely that you will need to work with other programs along with Fireworks.

For instance, you probably have scanned images from pixel-based programs such as Adobe Photoshop directly from scanner software. Or you may have used Photoshop or Corel Painter to create artwork with special effects.

You might have logos and other artwork created in vector-drawing programs such as Macromedia FreeHand, CorelDraw, or Adobe Illustrator.

Fortunately, you can open or import files created in all of these programs in Fireworks.
