Chapter 9. EFFECTS > Applying Blur Effects

Applying Blur Effects

The blur effects soften the details in objects. They can be used to make one object appear to be behind others. The effects are most obvious when applied to pixel-based images, but they also affect patterns, textures, and gradients applied to objects.

Tip

The blur effects work by changing some of the blacks and whites in an image to shades of gray. This means that some of the details of an image are lost.
