Photoshop 5 introduced a limited capability to make Photoshop perform color conversion as it sent the data to a printer—it did a conversion from the working space to a selected printer profile using the profile's default rendering intent. Photoshop 6 extends that capability significantly, by letting you convert from the document's space either directly to the printer profile, with control over the rendering intent, or from the document space to your Proof Setup space, and then to the printer profile.
