The Styles Palette

If it feels like it took too darn much time to create these effects, then you can take comfort in knowing that Photoshop 6.0's new Styles palette allows you to store a collection of layer styles so they can be applied over and over again. To save a style, just make sure the layer with the style(s) applied is active and then click the New Style icon at the bottom of the Styles palette (Figure 14.42). Your style should appear at the bottom of the palette. To apply that style to another layer, just make that layer active and then click on the style you created in the Styles palette. (Or you can choose Layer > Layer Style > Copy Style, click on the layer you'd like to apply it to, and then choose Paste Style from the same menu.) That's all there is to it! You can also remove all the styles applied to a layer by clicking on the No Style icon at the bottom of the Styles palette. The styles that appear in this palette will stay there (available in any document) until you decide to change them.
