Other Text Transformations

If you want your text to rotate and get larger or smaller as the animation progresses, you'll need to create a bunch of layers. But you have to remember that any change to the pixels in a layer (such as scaling) will affect all the frames of the animation. That means you'll need one layer for each frame! You can make this go much faster by using the Actions palette (and remember—in case you've been switching back and forth between programs—you need to record this one in ImageReady). You'll want your action to contain the following steps (Figure 17.11):

1.
Create a new frame in the Animation palette.

2.
Hide the layer you want to transform.

3.
Duplicate that layer.

4.
Make the duplicate layer visible.

5.
Transform the layer using Edit > Transform > Numeric.
