Making Cool Drop Shadows

1.
Select the layer that has the StichStyle logo on it. It should be called stichstyle.com on the layer.

Double-click the layer.

You will see the Layer Style dialog box pop up.

In the left column, you'll see Styles. Click Drop Shadow (see Figure 4-2).

Make sure Preview is checked under the OK button.

Click on the words “Drop Shadow” on the left half of the Layer Style dialog box. You will see a new set of options on the right half of the dialog box.

Look at the StichStyle logo as you play with the Opacity, Distance, Spread, and Size sliders.

Notice what each of them do to the image.

You can click the effects on and off in the dialog box to view them.

If you want to create the image just as we did, use the settings in Figure 4-2 above.

Click OK and you have made your first drop shadow (see Figure 4-3).

Look at the Layer palette and you'll see that the effect you choose is below the StichStyle logo layer (see Figure 4-4).
