Creating the Layers for Animation

We'll begin working in Photoshop to create our layers.

1.
Open a new image that is 150 x 60 pixels with a white background.

2.
Type in the words “stichstyle” in 30-point black type (see Figure 8-1).

In the Layer palette, drag the text layer to the Copy Layer icon at the bottom of the palette (see Figure 8-2).

Select another color from the Color Swatches.

5.
Use Option/Delete or Alt/Backspace to fill the new words with color.

6.
Repeat these steps until you have four layers of the same text with four different colors (see Figure 8-3).
