Chapter 37. Guiding Principles

When evaluating technologies—new and old—apply the following as guiding principles:

Use what works for you. New technologies are not necessarily the best. Proven technologies, ones that you already know how to use, are the best technologies.

Do not forget the simplest, no-fail “technology”: Thinking. Turn off the computer, the television, the phone—and think about what you have seen, heard, and read.
