Lack of Perception

Dale has no notion of where he is in life, where he wants to go, or what he has to do to be successful. He doesn’t know his own strengths and weaknesses, and he can’t see the obstacles and hazards that threaten his growth and development. He can’t begin the planning process because he can’t see what he has to do to get off dead center.

Sometimes Dale divides his world into such small segments that he loses all perspective about what’s going on around him. He interprets current events according to his own biased notions because he can’t make head or tail of what other people have told him. He’s left with pieces of a puzzle that he can’t put back together. He goes through life eliminating all kinds of planning options that might otherwise lead to successful outcomes.
