Successful planners become so firmly committed to their plans for the future that they’re able to resist any and all distractions that threaten the accomplishment of their intended goals. But not Becky. She can’t stick to a predetermined course of action, no matter how well it’s spelled out. She gives up easily when faced with even the slightest obstacle.

The difference between Becky and people who successfully plan is as explainable as the difference in people’s ability to solve intellectual problems or perform acts of skill.
