The Outside-In Planning Model

  • The primary focus of the outside-in model is on the people and events that exist in the world around you. You come second.

  • It makes use of what other people think is happening now or is going to happen in the future.

  • It calls for a continuous analysis of outside trends, conditions, and other environmental factors.

  • It causes time lags because it can only make use of information that other people have accumulated and are willing to provide to you.
