The most important thing to remember as an investor is that the changes in the ratings, the trend, is more important than what those ratings are. A top-ranked semiconductor analyst can cut the rating on Intel Corp. from “a strong buy” to “a buy” and drive the company’s share price down sharply. “What you are really looking for as an investor is a change of opinion,” said Lichtblau.
