Part: I Capture the Numbers > Tracking Your Money

Chapter 1. Tracking Your Money

In this chapter:

  • Considering the task ahead

  • Finding the right system

  • Snaring every piece of information

  • Creating a tracking document

  • Tracking for two: managing joint accounts

If you're like many of my clients, you feel the need to keep track of your earnings and spending. You want to ensure that your accounts are balanced and your bills are paid, and that nothing is overlooked. As an adult, managing your money properly is the responsible thing to do. If you don't feel you're doing it right, money management can become a source of anxiety and embarrassment, and eventually you might become so intimidated by the whole process that you avoid dealing with it altogether. You don't want to do that, of course, because that would compound the problem pretty quickly.
