Part: III Advanced Projects > Learn More from Your Organized Data

Chapter 8. Learn More from Your Organized Data

In this chapter:

  • Calculating your personal profits and losses

  • Assessing your debt

  • Taking a close look at your spending patterns

  • Measuring your debt-to-income ratio

  • Using your organized data to help manage your budget

Now that you have your numbers in order, what do you want to do with them? Perhaps your goal in working through this book was to get your financial data organized so you can make an accurate budget or decide how best to divide your income among expenses and investments. Maybe you're deep in debt and need a plan for getting out of it, or you have a big expense coming up and want to start saving now. Those are all excellent goals, and they're an example of the point at which a professional organizer would refer you to an accountant, broker, or other financial expert for specialized advice on saving, investing, and managing your money.
